Day 4 – Find the Meaning

March 1, 2018 - Today's assignment is to take one of the things from Day 2 and find the meaning, what made me think "Hmmm?" I've been noticing that our daylight hours are increasing by a few minutes each day. Spring is on the way. Waking to the sun shining through the bedroom window reminds me …

Day 3 – The Calgary Fire of 1886 (Historical Search)

February 28, 2018 - Today's challenge was to do some research about your city or a city that you like to regularly visit. I researched Calgary. The Calgary Fire of November 7, 1886 Calgary was a small town. The downtown was located around 9th Avenue SE & Centre St. There weren't a lot of buildings. On …

Day 2 – Things That Stand Out

February 27, 2018 - Today's challenge is to keep a list of things that you notice/stand out. What makes you stop and think for a moment. Why start blogging now?

Simple. There comes a point in your life when you realize what is important – what you want to do with your time. I have always loved writing. Well, I shouldn’t say “always”. I remember each fall we used to have to write a story about what we did during our summer vacation. Those were not fun to write – mostly because I grew up poor and we didn’t “do” anything per se. We just spent the summer being kids.  I’m not sure when it morphed into wanting/loving to write other than it’s an outlet for me.

Over the course of my lifetime, I’ve put pen to paper (and now fingers to keyboard) to write down thoughts and, on occasion, some fiction. I saved them and will start to post them here.
